Paddington Skate Park

Tuesday - 4:30pm - 5:30pm

We’re excited to now be running our skate park classes at Paddington Skate Park, one of Brisbane’s most loved parks.

Nestled in the inner-west of Brisbane, this park is known for its super smooth concrete, leafy surrounds and relaxed, welcoming vibe. Shaded by trees, it’s the perfect environment for learning and building confidence without feeling overwhelmed.

Paddington offers a great mix of low-to-medium features that are ideal for progression. You’ll find gentle banks, small quarter pipes, ledges and fun little drop-ins (around 2ft) that are perfect for learning your very first ramp skills, as well as developing stalls, carving and flow.

Our classes are designed for all skill levels, and if you can confidently skate forwards and backwards, you’re ready to start learning the fundamentals of skate park skating.

With supportive coaching, a fun environment and a park that’s perfect for progression, Paddington is the ideal place to take your skating to the next level!

What kind of skates do I need to skate at the park?

For all of our classes, you are required to bring your own skates, helmet and safety gear. For those starting out, we also recommend a pair of padded shorts.

Quad skates and inline blades are both welcome and our coaches are skilled in teaching both.

For quads, a set of ‘grind blocks’ can be beneficial when learning how to drop in as they create more stability when standing on the coping. They are also very useful when learning how to stall but not necessary when you are first starting.

A set of wider trucks (the axle holding the wheels) can help you feel more stable when at high speeds; we use ‘Penny Trucks.’

For wheels, we recommend a set of small/hard wheels. Ideally 97A+ and between 54mm - 62mm. This will keep you skating fast and reduce the risk of your wheels getting caught mid-trick.

Our Designs

Did you know that all our shirts were designed and drawn by our Coach Layla?

As an aspiring artist, she finds great joy and fulfillment seeing our skaters getting around in the shirts she made! Her goal is to create unique and affordable skate shirts to be enjoyed by the greater skate community.

Her favourite design so far is the Skate Park Tee. If you look closely, the two figures are her and Coach Paige skating at their fave local, Leslie Skate Park.

Your support in purchasing a shirt is greatly appreciated. And the more shirts we sell, the more designs she can get started on!
